Spring 2011 has brought the arrival of the Kwikset Z-wave door locks which are fully compatible with the Go!Control panel. You have control of your locks via your cell phone and/or remote computer, and you can arm/disarm your alarm system by simply locking/unlocking your door. While on a family vacation last month, my 12 year old neighbor girl came into my home twice a day to care for my pets. She entered through a door containing the Kwikset lock with her own code and had absolutely no problem with entry and the alarm system. I was able to tell when she came in and when she left from notifications sent to me on my smart phone. When we returned, I simply removed her code from the lock.

I was also able to see my pets by viewing live video feed on my smart phone from my wireless security camera. Once again, I had comfort in seeing them and knowing they were well (and not causing trouble!). Visit our Components and Security Cameras pages for more information.

We are expecting the release of 2Gig's new LCD color touchscreen wireless keypad next month. The keypad will provide remote arming/disarming functionality, voice announcements for status, alarms, and complete home automation control. You'll be able to add up to four keypads to your Go!Control alarm system.

Other new items on the horizon include a bridge module to connect other manufacturers' wireless alarm systems to the Go!Control panel so that you may use your existing wireless devices, and a garage door module which allows you to open/close your garage door with the same wireless key fob you use to arm/disarm your SafeLife system.
